While Magdalena Lobnig achieved a bronze medal in the women’s single sculls for Austria, Horst Anselm – Organiser of the 2019 World Rowing Championships in Linz-Ottensheim – and his team were analysing the event from an organisational point of view. “We could see that we are on the right track”, said Anselm. “Having experienced logistics and organisational implementation here, we can say that we are definitely on the same level. Moreover, Anselm and his team seized the opportunity to promote their event. “We distributed regional delicacies and information about the 2019 World Championships in our traditional costume.”

Important representatives of politics and economy supported the Organising Committee, among others Michael Strugl – Vice-Governor of Upper Austria – and Franz Füreder – Mayor of Ottensheim. “I am glad that they could experience the event and now know what is going to expect us next year in Ottensheim”, so Anselm. “The entire delegation is looking forward to bringing the spectacle to Upper Austria. Our visit was a confirmation that everything goes according to plan.”
